Saturday Workshops
Workshops at Milford Street Textile Mill are offered on an irregular basis to provide learning experiences in a variety of media. They last from three to six hours depending on subject matter.
Alterations / Visible Mending Workshop
In this workshop, participants will bring an article of clothing that they would like to mend or alter. The instructor will work with each person to address what steps and techniques are necessary to achieve the mending goal. This workshop will be offered periodically for those wishing to get advice on how to make a specific alteration and learn the appropriate steps.
All supplies provided. Participants are welcome to bring a project to work on.

Embroidery Workshop
Let's get together to embroider! Exploration of embroidery techniques and stitches.

Holiday Wreath-making Workshop
Join the Milford St Textile Mill to create a Holiday Wreath! Materials and a wire wreath form will be provided. Feel free to bring your own additions to add to your creation.
Cider and treats will be provided.

Upcycle Creative Sewing Workshop
Make old clothes new by cutting, reassembling, embellishing. Bring a piece or two of clothing that you would like to alter into something new. Change the sleeves, add pockets or trade with another person in the class.
Materials, some thrifted items and all other supplies provided.

Pockets and Zippers Workshop
This workshop deconstructs two elements used in the construction of clothing, bags and many other sewn objects. Using white cotton, participants will make samples of multiple types of zipper construction including, lap, centered, jean / fly, invisible, and separating zippers. We will discuss application of the different types of zippers and the best sources for buying them.
In addition, we will look at the myriad ways to create pockets from the most basic patch pocket to complex welt pockets. Participants will leave the workshop with samples of pockets
and zippers
